APPROACH
What I did
- Assessed product-level sales growth, mix quality, gross margin and discount pressure.
- Compared growth contribution with gross-profit contribution to identify low-quality growth.
- Analyzed customer groups through sales share, discounts, collection time and commercial-risk indicators.
- Designed a customer-grading framework, management KPIs and prioritized managerial actions.
KEY FINDINGS
What came out of the analysis
- Total unit sales increased 21.6%, but B2 and D generated 58.1% of net unit growth while contributing only 16.8% of estimated gross profit.
- Product C showed a 26% margin and 6% discount with a profit-efficiency indicator of 1.62, while unit sales declined 6.9%.
- Weighted receivables were about 146.8 days; private and government hospitals represented 65% of sales and roughly 74% of collection pressure.
- In the final business scenario, unit sales rose 18.4% while gross profit fell 23.6% and gross margin declined from 42% to 31%, highlighting the difference between volume growth and economic-quality growth.
